1. What ClawRelay is
ClawRelay is a native macOS application that runs a local HTTP proxy on your device. It receives requests from AI clients (such as openClaw, Cursor, Claude Code, or Windsurf) and forwards them to LLM API providers you configure (such as OpenAI or Groq). All processing happens on your Mac.
ClawRelay is developed by desertstack.dev. You can reach us at rajivsingh.github@gmail.com.
2. Data we do not collect
ClawRelay collects no data from you. Specifically:
- No personal information (name, email, account, device identifiers)
- No usage analytics or telemetry
- No crash reports sent off-device
- No request content, prompts, or model responses
- No IP addresses or network metadata
There are no analytics frameworks, crash reporters, or tracking SDKs included in ClawRelay.
3. What stays on your device
ClawRelay stores the following data locally on your Mac:
- Provider API keys — stored in the macOS Keychain. Only ClawRelay can read them. They are never written to disk outside the Keychain and never transmitted to anyone other than the provider you configured.
- Provider configuration — provider names, base URLs, and priority order are stored in macOS
UserDefaults, local to your device. - Server configuration — your chosen port, network access settings, and auto-start preference are stored in
UserDefaults, local to your device. - Request logs — ClawRelay saves a log of proxied requests (method, endpoint, provider used, status code, duration, token counts, and optionally request/response bodies) as JSON files in your Application Support folder. These logs never leave your device unless you manually share them.
~/Library/Application Support/com.desertstack.ClawRelay/logs/. You can clear them at any time from the Logs tab inside the app.
4. Requests forwarded to third-party providers
When ClawRelay forwards a request to a provider you configured (OpenAI, Groq, Ollama, etc.), that request is sent directly from your Mac to the provider's API. ClawRelay does not sit on a remote server and does not see or store these requests beyond the local log described above.
Each provider has its own privacy policy. ClawRelay has no control over how providers handle data once a request reaches them. Review your provider's privacy policy for details:
- OpenAI: openai.com/privacy
- Groq: groq.com/privacy-policy
- Ollama: runs locally on your device, no data leaves your machine
5. Children's privacy
ClawRelay is a developer tool. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

If we update this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Since ClawRelay collects no personal data, substantive changes are unlikely. We will not notify you of routine updates, but any material change will be noted clearly on this page.
